Can a nail/foot fungus spread to the inside of the legs?

I have been suffering with a nail/foot fungus for several weeks. I am treating it with over the counter medications and it appears to be improving some. Today I am having pain throughout both my legs. It is difficult to describe, but it sort of feels like the circulation is being cut off. It is very painful!! Can the nail/foot fungus spread to the legs?
