Anyone have a toenail fall off?

I dropped a couch on my big toe, and the nail turned all black and blue, and days later the nail itself actually fell off. Has this happened to anyone, and how long did it take for your nail to grow back? Should I use any treatments or go to a doctor?

my sisters did that. i don’t know how long it took but she has a toenail now lol.

I have and it took me almost 2 months for my pinky toenail to grow back, it depends on your body though but it should take no longer than 12 weeks (about 3 months)!!

i broke my toe,twice and yes same thing both times..it happens..you probably broke it too. there is nothing the dr. can do, ‘cept unless you are in severe pain, meds..but i suggest asprin…no treatment is necessary unless it’s and open wound..but i’d still just keep it clean..and it takes anywhere from 6 mos. to a year…to grow back.

I’ve seen it happen, but it’s never actually happened to me. It shouldn’t cause any permanent damage, so there’s no need to see a doctor; they’ll just tell you it’s going to fall off and it will take a few months for it to grow back. Chances are, they won’t even give you any pain medication if it hurts, so it would just be a waste of time.
However, if your toe is broken, then you might want to get it looked at… a broken toe can be extremely painful and even mess with the way you walk, if it’s broken badly enough, or is broken in a strange spot. But, if this isn’t the case, then don’t worry about it. Unless your toe has turned blood-red with internal bleeding, there’s nothing they’ll do for you. It’s going to be a while before it stops hurting so, good luck.
